The National Depository Center is the key infrastructure institution of the securities market of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Its activity serves the reliable, transparent and uninterrupted functioning of the market.

Main areas

• Central depository activity — recording and safekeeping of investment securities and registration of the transfer of ownership;
• Registrar activity — maintaining the registers of issuers’ securities holders;
• Clearing and settlement — determining and settling mutual obligations under transactions;
• National Numbering Agency — assigning international ISIN, CFI and FISN codes to securities;
• Support for corporate actions — dividend and coupon payments, organisation of general meetings;
• International cooperation — correspondent relations with foreign depositories and participation in international associations;
• Digitalisation — development of electronic platforms and online delivery of services.

Basis of activity

The NDC conducts its activity in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the regulations of the Central Bank and the accepted principles of international depository practice.
